Parenting is Hard. You Don’t Have to do it Alone.

FROM TRYING TO CONCEIVE TO PARENTING YOUNG KIDS, WE’RE HERE FOR YOU.

The Parenthood Journey Isn’t Always What You Expected

Parenting is messy, emotional, and unpredictable. Maybe you're trying to conceive and feel like your body is failing you. Maybe you just had a baby, and instead of feeling joy, you feel overwhelmed. Maybe your toddler just threw a tantrum in the grocery store, and now you’re hiding in the car Googling ‘how to be a better parent.’

Whatever stage you’re in, we see you. You don’t have to figure this out alone.

At Toronto Therapy Practice, we help parents navigate the ups and downs of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, grief, relationship stress, or just feeling lost in this new identity, we’re here to support you with expert, compassionate therapy designed for parents like you.

Are You Struggling With:

LET’S WORK TOGETHER

  • When did the constant exhaustion and divided responsibilities of caring for your baby begin to transform your once-connected relationship into brief, tired encounters between diaper changes and feedings?

Fertility treatments can create a rollercoaster of hope and disappointment that tests even the strongest relationships, transforming what was once spontaneous intimacy into scheduled appointments and procedures that can leave both partners feeling emotionally drained.

Pregnancy loss can strain a relationship as both partners navigate their grief differently, sometimes creating emotional distance when they need each other most.

  • Wondering if your whole world will flip upside down when baby arrives? It's normal to feel like you're on an emotional rollercoaster during pregnancy and after giving birth, with mood swings and mixed feelings about becoming a parent. You're not alone. From career concerns to relationship shifts, it can feel overwhelming to take in all the changes at once.

  • That mix of worry about giving birth and constant questioning if you'll actually figure out what to do with a tiny human when they finally arrive?

  • Your body feels like a strange new landscape—familiar but different—and you wonder if you'll ever recognize yourself in the mirror again.

Between midnight feedings and mounting laundry, do you sometimes catch your reflection and wonder when you'll reconnect with the person who existed before "mom" became your primary identity?

  • Every unexplained symptom during pregnancy and each missed milestone after birth can trigger a spiral of late-night internet searches, leaving you torn between seeking reassurance and dreading what you might discover.

  • Between the hormone shifts, sleep deprivation, and sudden life transformation, feeling overwhelmed by waves of anxiety or persistent sadness doesn't make you a bad parent—it makes you human in need of support.

  • The endless cycle of feeding, changing, soothing, and desperately trying to shower feels like you're climbing a mountain that grows taller with each step, leaving you wondering if merely surviving until your partner gets home counts as a successful day.

  • The quiet moments rocking your baby at 3 AM can sometimes feel like the loneliest place in the world, even when surrounded by well-meaning advice and visitors who don't quite understand what you're going through.

  • Do you find yourself tensing up whenever your mother in law or your own mom offer parenting advice, wondering if they're truly trying to help or secretly critiquing your choices as a new mom?

  • Do you sometimes find yourself grieving for the straightforward path to parenthood you once imagined, as fertility treatments reshape the journey you never expected to walk?

  • The finality of saying goodbye to someone you loved so deeply but never got to meet leaves an invisible scar that others may not see, but that you carry with you through each passing day.

  • Do you find your thoughts sometimes drifting to questions about what might have been different, even though deep down you understand that pregnancy loss wasn't something within your control?

  • Social gatherings can become minefields of unintended pain when well-meaning friends ask "When are you having kids?" or share pregnancy announcements, unaware of the silent grief or ongoing struggle you carry.

  • The high costs of fertility treatments, like IVF, can cause significant financial stress for those trying to conceive.

  • Physical intimacy can feel overwhelming when your body is going through profound changes during pregnancy, fertility treatments, or after becoming a parent, with hormone fluctuations, physical discomfort, and emotional vulnerability often making it difficult to connect. Many people find themselves caught between wanting closeness and struggling with the realities of exhaustion, changing body image, and the shift in identity that comes with creating or caring for new life.

We specialize in supporting individuals throughout their parenthood journey, combining deep clinical expertise with genuine understanding of the challenges that come with fertility, pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Our therapists truly get it.

Our practice was founded by a senior clinician with over a decade of experience at Mount Sinai Hospital in Women and Infants Health. This foundation gives us an unparalleled understanding of the medical and emotional complexities that parents and parents-to-be experience.

Our therapists bring 10 to 30 years of experience to every session. Each has education and experience in perinatal mental health and the specific issues facing new and expecting parents. This means you won't have to explain the basics—we already understand what you're going through.

From the earliest thoughts of becoming a parent through fertility treatments, pregnancy, birth, and the intense postpartum period—as well as the relationship shifts and career balancing that follows—we provide the steady support you need to find your footing.
