Mila is the heart and soul of Toronto Therapy Practice. As the founder, her warm and empathetic approach creates an inviting atmosphere that fosters trust and connection. With a decade of experience in perinatal mental health at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Mila is passionate about helping individuals and couples overcome emotional distress and lead authentic, meaningful lives.

A Holistic and Client-Centered Approach

Mila works with clients who struggle with anxiety and depression which can often be a result of unresolved past trauma, relationship and/or work stress and self esteem issues. Are you a highly achieving individual who struggles with self esteem and confidence? Does this affect your work performance, interpersonal relationships and ultimately takes away from your ability to enjoy life? If so, she will work together with you to help you understand yourself on a deeper level, change unhelpful thinking patterns, identify strengths, build coping skills and move towards professional and personal success.

Mila has extensive experience in the area of perinatal mental health and can support you in coping with infertility, grief, and mood challenges in the pregnancy and in the postpartum period. She understands that becoming a parent while beautiful can often be fraught with difficulty, stress, and mixed feelings. She will help you make sense of your unique experience and help you feel like the best version of yourself again.

Mila's extensive expertise is underpinned by a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto. As a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW), she is committed to staying current with leading therapy practices.

Mila's therapeutic toolbox includes a range of evidence-based approaches, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. Her dedication to her clients' well-being is evident in her ability to create a tailored therapy experience that addresses relational difficulties, anxiety, depression, and pregnancy and postpartum challenges.

Supporting Couples and Individuals Alike

In couples therapy, Mila's focus is firmly on the couple's relationship. She is dedicated to creating a safe space where each partner feels comfortable sharing their reasons for seeking therapy. She helps couples navigate various life stressors and challenges including becoming a parent, improving communication, setting boundaries with extended family, as well as infidelity and breach of trust. By nurturing a supportive environment, she helps couples explore their challenges and find solutions that foster deeper emotional connection and understanding.

Growing up, moving around a lot sparked my love for travel - I've now been lucky enough to explore over 50 countries! When I'm not working with clients, I'm happiest spending time with family and friends or getting outdoors.
